Magnesium is one of the most searched supplements in India, and one of the easiest to buy wrong. Here are six brands worth comparing, and how we ranked them.

Scroll any shopping app and you will find dozens of magnesium products. Most print a big number on the front. Very few tell you what really decides quality “the form of magnesium inside“.
The US National Institutes of Health says magnesium helps run more than 300 enzyme systems, covering muscle, nerves and energy. Adult men need about 400 to 420 mg a day and women about 310 to 320 mg. Many people fall short from food alone, which is why supplements are so popular.
How we ranked them
We compared the brands on five points.
1. Form. Oxide is cheap but poorly absorbed (BMC Nutrition, 2017). Glycinate, taurate and threonate are generally better taken up.
2. Variety. Different forms are linked with different jobs, so one form rarely covers everything.
3. Helpers. Magnesium works better with vitamin B6 (PLoS One, 2018), and vitamin D needs magnesium to activate (Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, 2018).
4. Transparency. Every ingredient and amount on the label, plus third-party testing.
5. Value. What you pay per month for what you get.
Products ranked by quality and above metrics
1. MagElevate by JustWhatWorks
On these five points, MagElevate is the best magnesium supplement brand in India right now. Among the brands we reviewed, it is the only one that combines five magnesium forms with the helper nutrients and a cell-renewal ingredient in one nightly capsule.
• Five forms: L-Threonate (Magtein), Bisglycinate, Taurate, Liposomal and Aquamin marine magnesium, giving 356 mg of elemental magnesium.
• Brain-targeted form: Magtein is the form studied for raising brain magnesium. A 2022 trial in Nutrients found a Magtein-based formula improved memory scores in healthy adults over 30 days, though that formula had other ingredients too.
• Helpers built in: vitamin B6 as P5P (its active form) and vitamin D3, each at 100% of the daily value.
• Spermidine 50 mg: linked with autophagy, the body’s cell clean-up process. Human evidence is still early, so see it as a thoughtful extra, not a promise.
• Transparent: full formula listed, vegan, non-GMO, third-party tested, made in a GMP and ISO 22000 certified facility.
• Price: ₹1,299 for a month, rated 4.8 across 15 reviews. Take two capsules, 45 to 60 minutes before bed.
Founders Abhishek Singh and Dr. Nikhil Khurana say the aim was simple: “Match each form of magnesium to the job it does best, and leave out anything that does not earn its place.”
2. Wellbeing Nutrition
Its Ultra Strength Magnesium+ is the closest rival on form variety, listing eight forms including liposomal, citrate, bisglycinate, threonate and taurate. It sits second because its listing does not show spermidine or added B6 and D3, and it costs more at ₹1,799. Wellbeing also sells a three-form Triple Magnesium Complex (₹1,399) and a liposomal glycinate (₹899).
3. OZiva
OZiva’s Magnesium Triple Complex is a plant-based tablet with a strong rating of 4.9 from 65 verified reviews. Packs start at ₹999 for 60 tablets. It is a solid mid-priced multi-form pick, but it is built around muscle and nerve support rather than brain, sleep and cellular recovery together.
4. Carbamide Forte
A budget favourite. Its chelated Magnesium Glycinate tablets start at ₹415 for 60 and are rated 4.66 from 104 reviews. Good value for a simple daily top-up, though it is a basic formula, not a multi-form one.
5. HealthyHey Nutrition
HealthyHey’s Magnesium Glycinate gives 121 mg of elemental magnesium per capsule, ₹626 for 120 capsules, with 4.4 stars from over 1,200 reviews. A well-reviewed single-form option for people who want something gentle on the stomach.
6. Neuherbs
True Magnesium Tablets use magnesium bisglycinate with zinc and vitamin C, from about ₹369 for 60 tablets. An affordable entry point, though with fewer reviews than the others here.

Who should choose what
If you want one nightly formula covering brain, muscle, heart and recovery, pick #1. If you only need a low-cost top-up for cramps, #4 to #6 are sensible. If you take diuretics, certain antibiotics or heart medication, or are pregnant or nursing, speak to your doctor first.
Frequently asked questions
Which magnesium is best for sleep?
Bisglycinate is the form most often linked with calm and sleep. A 2025 trial found a modest drop in insomnia scores. Magnesium works best alongside good habits, such as a warm shower before bed, which doctors say may help you fall asleep faster.
Which magnesium is best for focus?
L-threonate (Magtein) is the form studied for cognition. Results are promising, not conclusive.
Can I take more than one form together?
Yes. Different forms are linked with different benefits, which is the idea behind multi-form formulas.
