The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Class 12 board results for the year 2025. The results were declared on May 13, 2025, and are now available on the board’s official websites. Students can check their marks through cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. The results are also available on popular government platforms like DigiLocker and the UMANG app, making it easier for students to access their digital marksheets from anywhere.

This year, the overall pass percentage for Class 12 students is 88.39%, showing a slight increase compared to last year’s 87.98%. Out of over 17 lakh students who registered, more than 14.9 lakh students successfully passed the exams. These results reflect not only the students’ hard work but also the efforts of schools, teachers, and parents.

Among the total of 17,04,367 registered students, around 16,92,794 appeared for the exam. Out of these, 14,96,307 students passed, which contributes to the final pass rate of 88.39%. It’s also worth noting that girls performed better than boys. The pass percentage for girls is 91.64%, while the pass percentage for boys is 85.70%. Over 1.11 lakh students scored above 90%, and 24,867 students scored above 95%, reflecting excellent academic performances by many.

Despite these achievements, some students still have challenges ahead. Around 1,29,095 students were placed in the compartment category, which means they will have to appear for re-examinations in specific subjects. CBSE will soon release the dates and details for the compartment exams on their official website.

When we talk about region-wise performance, some parts of India stood out for their outstanding results. Vijayawada region performed the best with a pass percentage of 99.60%. It was followed by Trivandrum with 99.32%, Chennai with 97.39%, Bengaluru with 95.95%, and Delhi West with 95.37%. These regions consistently perform well every year, showing the high level of education provided in these areas.

In terms of school performance, government-backed institutions continued to shine. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) achieved a pass percentage of 99.29%, while Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) reported 99.05%. The Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA) also did well with 98.96% of their students passing. These institutions offer high-quality education and consistent academic support to students across India.

If you’re a student who appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exams this year, checking your results is simple. You need to visit cbse.gov.in or results.cbse.nic.in, and enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID. Once entered, your mark sheet will be displayed on the screen. You can also download or print it for your records.

For students who prefer mobile access, the DigiLocker app and UMANG app offer convenient options. Both are supported by the government and allow students to view their results and digital documents on smartphones. You can log in using your Aadhar-linked mobile number or student credentials. Additionally, CBSE also provides a method to check results via SMS for students in remote areas or with limited internet access.

If a student is not satisfied with their marks, CBSE offers a re-evaluation process. You can apply for rechecking of answer sheets through the official CBSE portal within the announced deadline. There’s a small fee for this service, but it gives students peace of mind if they suspect any errors in marking.

Students who have failed in one or two subjects can apply for the CBSE compartment exams. This allows them to save their academic year by reappearing for only the failed subjects. Details regarding the supplementary exam dates will soon be published by CBSE, and students should regularly check the official website for updates.

With the results now declared, students can start planning their next academic steps. Those who wish to pursue higher education should start applying for undergraduate courses in various universities, colleges, and institutes across India and abroad. Popular entrance exams like JEE, NEET, CUET, and CLAT are next on the list for many aspirants.

This is also a crucial time to explore different career paths, such as science, commerce, arts, or vocational courses. Students unsure about their future can benefit from career counseling sessions, which are offered by many schools and educational platforms. These sessions help students understand their strengths and interests and make informed decisions.

Parents are advised to support and motivate their children, regardless of their result. It’s important to focus on long-term growth and confidence rather than comparing marks with others. Teachers also play a huge role in guiding students through this transitional phase, from school to college.

The CBSE Class 12 result 2025 is more than just numbers. It marks the beginning of a new journey for lakhs of students across India. Whether students scored high, average, or need to improve, every result is a step forward in their academic and personal growth.
