Dr. Saurabh Kumar Agarwal: A man who has dedicated his life towards children empowerment; Owner of Madhavrao Scindia Public School group of institutions in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh; a down-to-earth man who believes in equal opportunities of education for all;known for providing free education to at least 500 students every year in his school which has helped many unfortunate orphans, slum children, etc. to receive full education and later have added a graduated degree in their profiles. He has improved and saved may lives with his generosity, targeting, perhaps the most concerning issue of India – Illiteracy.
He is Dr. Saurabh Kumar Agarwal , 55 years old, and by profession, an Educator.
This goal, to make education accessible and affordable to all, without any bias, of religion, colour, caste, etc. makes him a role model for many people, young and old.
During COVID-19, he has arranged and organized many camps for blood donation,keeping in contact with local hospitals, thus playing a crucial role in saving thousands of lives. Not only this, he also provided Medical Aid, Food, and Clothes, as well as also arranged Free Medical Check-up Camps in different parts of society, especially for kids.
Born on 29th August 1967, at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Saurabh has lived a very eventful life, where he has experienced extreme poverty and riches. At the age of 17, he found himself responsible of a sugarcane factory. As he wanted to study further, so along with handling the family business, he also kept on completing his education. He earned his Master’s Degree in English from Bareilly College, and completed his MBA from Indra Gandhi National Open University. Recently, in year 2022, he was awarded with Honorary Doctorate in Education from Boston Imperial University(USA)
In 1990, he married his lovely wife and his life was filled with happiness. But life had other plans, as the government closed down the privately-owned sugarcane factories. He started his journey again, when his father gave him 1Lakh 30 Thousand Rupees (₹1,30,000) to build his life. With this amount,he put all his hardwork and perseverance and started his Jewellery Business – Trading, Delivering and later becoming a Brand. He opened his own showroom ‘Chandana Jewellers’ which is under his possession to this day.
He still recalls his days of barely saving 2 rupees a month, and luxuries of enjoying half Coca-Cola bottle with his wife. Dr. Agarwal came to understand the power of education &literacy among masses and it came to his mind that for any advancement to be possible, education is the answer.
“Shikshit Bharat, Viksit Bharat”
With this quote in heart, Dr. Saurabh Agarwal became the founder of a group of institution, built in 2004, the Only School that has the recognition of the Royal Scindia Family, in India and beyond. With honour and respect towards the Previous Head , the school was named ‘Madhavrao Scindia Public School’.
Dr. Saurabh Agarwal started this paragraph of his life by opening a small school, and after all his hardwork, where less than 150 students enrolled in the first year and 180 in the second year. The year was a hard year for him, as he had a lot of debt on his shoulders, but he persisted and rose up to the challenge again and again and again, then finally life said, “Fine! Have it your way!” and it showed in the 3rd year , the school had a 300% profit with 450 students’ enrolment. The year after that had almost double that number, with 850 students’ enrolment.
Today, After 19 years of its inception, it has cumulative strength of 4000 students and every year, out of those 4000 students, 500 students do not have to spend a single penny for their education. And for the last 10 years, regularly, many District Toppers, Merit Holders, etc. have graduated from this school. The school has won numerous awards and accolades to its name.
MADHAVRAO SCINDIA PUBLIC SCHOOL, BAREILLY GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS is counted among the best schools in Bareilly and one of the Best in Uttar Pradesh. IT Professionals, Doctors, IT Officers, ISS Officers, CAs, Defence Personnel etc. have passed out from this school as well and still keep in contact with Dr. Agarwal to this day.
